It’s been more than 50 years since the historic Stonewall Inn uprising. Yet, LGBTQ+ communities across the United States, and all over the world, are still forced to remain silent. People living in places where being gay can be seen as evil, and even punishable by law, are still waiting for their own “Stonewall moment.”
More than a symbol of the past, we aim to become a beacon for freedom and equality in the darkest corners of the world—so we decided to bring Stonewall where it was needed most through the STONEWALL: THE NEXT 50 movement. In a partnership with the Stonewall Inn Gives Back Initiative (SIGBI), we crafted a multichannel campaign in order to build a network of support for local LGBTQ+ communities everywhere. And When the Stonewall Inn was forced to close its doors during PRIDE due to COVID, we partnered with Google to use their Street View technology to map the inside of the bar, opening it up to the entire LGBTQ+ community across the globe.
